What Akoma does
Akoma is built specifically for the medication side of the journey — not as a fitness tracker, not as a calorie counter, not as a clinic. The app focuses on five things and tries to do them calmly:
- Injection tracking. Log dose, site and timing for any GLP-1 medication. Built-in rotation reminders prevent over-using a single site.
- Side-effect logging. A quiet way to record nausea, fatigue, GI symptoms and similar, so trends become visible to you and your clinician.
- Honest weight trends. A weight chart that smooths the noise without hiding the truth.
- Low-effort meal logging. Snap a photo for an instant macro and portion estimate. The request travels through an authenticated Supabase Edge Function and OpenRouter to a configured model provider that must support zero data retention. The original photo is not stored on Akoma servers or used to train models.
- Daily overview. Next shot reminder, daily rings, weekly summary, shot streaks.
How Akoma is different
The GLP-1 app market is full of weight-loss-first products — many of them re-skinned calorie counters with leaderboards and streak-shame mechanics. Akoma was made for people who want the opposite: an app that respects the medication, respects your data, and respects your attention. We compete with apps such as Shotsy, MeAgain, Glapp and ShotTrack on the “quiet” dimension — built around the GLP-1 journey itself, not around gamified weight loss.
Privacy
Akoma does not sell user data, request IDFA access or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. The app sends privacy-filtered product events to Akoma’s PostHog US project; medication details, body metrics, symptoms, meal text, notes and photos are excluded. You can turn this off in Profile → Your data → Product analytics. Akoma ships no Meta or TikTok SDKs and does not forward app events to either platform. AI requests travel via Supabase and OpenRouter only to configured model providers that support zero data retention. The full privacy policy is at /privacy.
