Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 April 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Akoma Health(“we”, “us”, “our”) uses personal data when you use our website and join our waitlist. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This page is provided for transparency. It is not legal advice. If you need advice on your specific situation, consult a qualified professional.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Akoma Health, operating under that trading name in the United Kingdom (London, UK). We are not yet incorporated as a limited company; when we incorporate or otherwise formalise our legal structure, we will update this policy with the legal entity name and, where required, registration details.
2. How to contact us
Email: hello@akomahealthcare.com
We will add a UK postal address here as soon as one is available for privacy correspondence.
3. What personal data we collect
3.1 Waitlist
If you join our waitlist, we collect the email address you submit. We may also store whether you gave marketing consent at signup (see section 5). We do not collect health data or other special-category personal data through the waitlist form, and we do not store health information in our application database for this purpose.
3.2 Technical and usage data
When you visit our website, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and server logs for security, reliability, and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies on the site at present; if that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
4. Purposes and lawful bases
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- Waitlist and launch communications (consent): To register your interest and send you information about our launch and product, where you have opted in.
- Marketing communications (consent): To send marketing emails about Akoma Health, our services, and related news, where you have agreed to this at signup.
- Service delivery and improvement (legitimate interests): To operate and secure the website, troubleshoot issues, and understand aggregated technical events, where this does not override your rights.
- Legal compliance (legal obligation): Where we must comply with applicable law or respond to lawful requests.
5. Marketing and your choices
We only send marketing emails if you have given clear consent (for example, by ticking the consent box on the waitlist form). You can withdraw consent or opt out of marketing at any time by contacting us at hello@akomahealthcare.com or by using any unsubscribe link we provide in emails. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
6. Cookies
Our site may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for basic operation and security. We do not use non-essential tracking cookies at present. If we add optional cookies, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.
7. Who we share data with
We use trusted service providers (“processors”) who process data on our instructions:
- Supabase — database hosting and storage for waitlist signups.
- Resend — sending transactional and marketing emails.
- Vercel — website hosting and deployment infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
8. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data in countries outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK, or adequacy regulations, as applicable to the relevant provider and transfer.
9. How long we keep data
We keep waitlist data for as long as needed to manage the waitlist and send communications you have agreed to, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If you opt out of marketing, we will retain minimal information as necessary to honour your opt-out and for legal or legitimate purposes (for example, a suppression list).
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for any accounts you create with us in future.
11. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability, in each case subject to conditions and exemptions. You may also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
To exercise your rights, contact hello@akomahealthcare.com.
12. Children
The waitlist and marketing communications are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email if we have your address).
14. Health services and third-party providers
Akoma Health does not provide medical treatment, diagnostic testing, or laboratory analysis through this website. Any future clinical or testing services are intended to be delivered by independent licensed and regulated providers. When those arrangements are in place, those providers will process health-related data under their own terms and privacy notices. This policy does not cover their processing except where we act as a controller jointly or as instructed — we will clarify that in updates when relevant.
